This information session will provide helpful guidance as you consider nonprofit board service. You will learn about different types of organizations, explore what joining a board really means, and learn how to determine if board service is right for you.
At the end of the session, you will:
- Understand what a nonprofit board of directors is – and why organizations need them
- Understand the key roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board member
- Learn what questions to ask a organization– and yourself – when considering board service
- Familiarize yourself with different types of organizations in Tompkins County and the region
There will be ample time for Q&A throughout the session.
