The Second Quarterly Meeting of the Long Term Care Committee, which is open to the public, will be held May 3, 2019 at the Tompkins County Health Department, (55 Brown Road, Ithaca, NY), Noon to 1:30 PM.
The feature presentation will address mental and behavioral health trends of elders.
We will welcome a three-person panel, composed of: Family & Children’s Services—Ann Dolan, Geriatric Clinical Specialist, and from Cayuga Addiction and Recovery Services–Bernice Hayward, RARC Program Director, and Allison Bassi, Clinical Supervisor.
The panel will share their knowledge about trends that they see in regard to patients, who have substance abuse and/or mental health disorders and develop age-related conditions or physical co-morbidities, or those older patients that now manifest mental or behavioral disorders (cognitive decline, depression) because of an acute medical episode or life change. What are the potential short-term and long-term options for these individuals, and what additional resources are needed in our community? There will be ample time for Q&A.
You are welcome to bring your brown bag lunch. If you have any questions, please email Carolyn Beyers at email@example.com.
