On January 1st, 2025, as part of the Medicaid 1115 Waiver NY Health Equity Reform Program, the Social Care Network launched in New York State. Tompkins County is located in the Southern Tier Region’s Social Care Network, Care Compass Collaborative.

One of the components of the Social Care Network is the availability of enhanced health related social needs services for those who are eligible (eligibility criteria varies depending on the service), which includes housing, food/nutrition and transportation services. Due to the various services available for each type of need, and the different eligibility criteria, the Community Health and Access Committee (a committee of the Tompkins County Health Planning Council) is holding a series of presentations throughout March:
