The Human Services Coalition and its community partners are committed to bringing opportunities for funding, affordable housing, and support for homeless families and individuals to the Tompkins County area.  Over the years our involvement in local housing initiatives has grown and we now provide administration for several local programs including:

Continuum of Care (CoC NY-510)

The Ithaca / Tompkins County Continuum of Care System (CoC NY-510), led by the Human Services Coalition, is a local network of public, private, and non-profit agencies working collaboratively to end homelessness in Tompkins County.

Ithaca Eviction/Displacement Defense Project (IEDD)

Funded by the Enterprise Community Partners, this project promotes an engaged community where everyone, regardless of income, has access to the opportunities afforded by living here.

Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)

ERAP assists households behind on their rent that have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 and are at risk of homelessness or housing instability.

Homeless and Housing Task Force

A bi-monthly meeting focused on educating the general public on a variety of issues affecting the homeless population and the community-at-large. Meetings are free and open to the public.

Eviction Resources

These resources, made available through the Ithaca Eviction/Displacement Defense (IEDD) Project, will tell you about your rights as a tenant, provide free legal assistance, if needed, and help you determine if you qualify for rent relief assistance.

Rental Resolutions Program

Our landlord liaison provides resources and support to local landlords as well as builds better tenant/landlord connections in an effort to stave off evictions.

Ithaca Guaranteed Income (IGI)

As part of the Ithaca Eviction/Displacement Defense (IEDD) Project, Ithaca Guaranteed Income (IGI) provides a $450 stipend per month for up to one year to selected caregiver households within the City of Ithaca.
